21 Day - No Complaining Challenge

March 23rd I started a 21 day - No Complaining Challenge and invited a few folks to join in. Well over 50 people have said yes to this challenge and there were lots of questions of what this challenge is all about, what constitutes complaining and what doesn't and how will we hold ourselves accountable. At its most basic level this is a practice for you. And the invitation is the catalyst for accountability. I will post things daily, thoughts on complaining and offers some practices to be in relationship with complaining. I have also set up an accountability call in series, 3 calls over the 21 days. I am making this a part of my evolving ministry so I am asking you to pay $21 for for these 3 calls of support, learning and growth. You can register here.

If you choose not to do the calls that is fine too, return to this event everyday for some words of support.
Love to you!
The calls will be:
Sunday March 29th 7:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Saturday April 4th 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.
Sunday, April 12th 7:30 - 8:00 pm, all CST times

Day 27 - December Meditations - Stillness

Yesterday, I found myself simply over stimulated.  I went to see a movie, walked around in a store and just found the need to tap into some inner tranquility in the midst of my day.  This morning I welcome a simple practice of becoming still in our meditation.

As spiritual searchers we need to become freer and freer of the attachment to our own smallness in which we get occupied with me-me-me. Pondering on large ideas or standing in front of things which remind us of a vast scale can free us from acquisitiveness and competitiveness and from our likes and dislikes. If we sit with an increasing stillness of the body, and attune our mind to the sky or to the ocean or to the myriad stars at night, or any other indicators of vastness, the mind gradually stills and the heart is filled with quiet joy. ~Ravi Ravindra

"Be still.  Stillness reveals the secrets of eternity” ~Lao Tzu

“The inner is foundation of the outer
The still is master of the restless
The Sage travels all day
yet never leaves his inner treasure”  ~Lao Tzu

“Being still does not mean don't move. It means move in peace.”  E'yen A. Gardner

Affirmation:  I welcome stillness in the midst of my living.

Day 26 - December Meditations - Unity

Today is the first day of Kwanzaa, a celebration of community, family and culture.  Each day of Kwanzaa a different quality is celebrated. Today's quality is Umoja or Unity.

Paul Ryan once said, "Every successful individual knows that his or her achievement depends on a community of persons working together."

Affirmation:  Today I embrace the gift of my community.  My living contributes to the whole, and the whole contributes to me.  We are one.
